.....You ARE the Father

Anyone who knows me knows that I have some very strong opinions on things regarding relationships, pregnancy, trust, et cetera.  The other night on twitter a guy posted a question, that has left me "debating" people ever since.  "If you are a woman, would you be offended if you got pregnant and the man asked for a pregnancy test?"   My answer was simple, it depends.  If you are just  having casual sex with some guy, no strings attached, no relationship then it shouldn't bother you.  But in my opinion, if we are in a committed relationship, it should.  Inside of a relationship, asking for a paternity test basically says "I think there is a chance this baby could not be mine, and therefore you must be screwing around."

So I posted the question on my Facebook status, just wondering what type of responses I would get.  I had a lot of women say just what I expected, but to my surprise several saw no problem with a guy asking this of them.  Also added it to a discussion group I'm in just to see.  Of course guys say the same thing... "you KNOW it's your baby but a guy can't be sure." And you are right, you can't be.  But to me, that request of a paternity test (assuming that you haven't been given a reason to NOT trust me) is a slap in the face and it will leave you single. Guys apparently don't get why or how a woman might be hurt or offended by this.  That's fine, because maybe the women you are with won't be like me, but as for me I will not deal with that shit.  You will get your paternity test and your pink slip.. you can get gone out of my life and we can set up a visitation schedule for the baby, or better yet, just give me half on the cost of an abortion.
